The Liberian National Police (LNP) on Friday arrested a man with sufficient quantity of marijuana during Liberia versus Ivory Coast 2018 World Cup preliminary qualifier Friday at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia.
The Police Support Unit (PSU) also arrested a young lady with a police access pass and a man with duplicate ticket.
The man only identified as Abraham or AB wearing a red and white Lone Star jersey had a huge quantity of the substance well loaded in a white tower around his neck while in queue to enter the field.
But the vigorous check at the entrance of the field by the police led to the discovery of the substance. The man was later taken into custody for investigation.
At the same time, a lady who is not an officer was caught with a police access pass around her neck and was taken for investigation, while another man wearing an all blue Lone Star jersey was caught with a fake ticket he reportedly made.
Prior to the match, the LNP Deputy Director for Operation, Prince Mulbah, passed a strict order  that there would be no stone left unturned and that any one caught violating the measures imposed by the LNP would have been prostituted.
As announced earlier, police officers were deployed at every way-out to the stadium and  those coming into the stadium via Lynch were in a queue from Benson and Lynch Streets intersection straight to the stadium and entered the still with ease as compare to previous matches when the stadium gates were over crowded.
No vehicles were allowed to ply the UN Drive and uniformed police officers were placed among the spectators, there was no misbehavior as it is usually done at Liberia’s home matches.
