Margibe County District #3 Representative in the Lower House of the Legislature, Ellen A. Attoh, has brought into the country a 40ft container containing assorted medical materials from the United States of America (USA).

Representative Attoh disclosed to the INSIGHT over the weekend in Margibi County that the materials include crutches, wheelchairs,  surgical equipment, medical drugs among others.

She pointed out that the items will be distributed to both public and private hospitals, clinics and other medical centers in Margibi County as part of efforts to address the healthcare needs of the citizens and residents of that part of the country.

She puts the cost of the materials at over US$100,000.

Rep. Attoh said the medical materials have been donated to Margibi County District 3 by a philanthropist group based in the USA, Gateway Medical Alliance.

Rep. Attoh said while she was on a visit to the USA in July this year, she successfully solicited the much-needed medical assistance from the group for the benefit of Margibi County District 3.

The female Lawmaker indicated that the donation of the medical materials was another way of giving back to her people in the district.

She explained that the latest donation of medical materials brings to two the number of time such initiative has been undertaken by her in the District.

She also thanked the group for its support in improving the healthcare sector of the District.

Meanwhile, the donation of the materials will begin this week in Margibi County, according to Rep. Attoh.
