Austin Dennis has taken over as the new president of the National Port Authority Sports Association.

This follows the resignation of Nyemah Nyanway as President of the Association. Nyanway who was recently elected as Executive Committee Member of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) recently turned over the association presidency.

Both Nyanway and Dennis were elected along with other officials two years ago as President and Vice President for Administration respectively.

In his turnover statement, Nyanway paid tribute to officials of the NPA , members of the NPA work force, the football team head coach and members of his technical staff for the cordial working relationship that existed among them during his term as president.

“I have decided to turn over the NPA Sports Association leadership to my VP for administration because I am now an executive committee member of the LFA and that my attention would now focus on how to work hand in hand with my colleagues to help move the game forward,”   the outgoing NPA President said.

Nyanway who served the association as vice president and secretary general before his election as president in 2016 described NPA Anchors returned to the LFA first division level as one of his best achievement.

“I met NPA Anchors at the relegation zone in the second division stage during the 2016 LFA national league but through the cordial working relationship that existed among us as officials of the association help the team to make a quick comeback in the first division level with lot of medals and proud to the team, so I am also excited that I am leaving with joy.”

He called on his successor Dennis to keep on the good workmanship with his fellow colleagues as they all struggle to keep their association among the best sporting organization in the country.

In respond, new President Dennis described the turning over of the NPA Sports Association leadership to him by Mr. Nyanwy as a trust and also a challenge placed in him.

He assured his predecessor and the NPA management of his fullest support for the common good of the association and also a good working relationship with other members of his administration.
