The Mountaineers were just three points away from reaching the final of the 2018 Liberia Football Association (LFA) Group Phase league, before suffering a shocking 1-0 defeat at home to LPRC Oilers on Sunday.

Nimba United quest to reach this year LFA First Division League Group final suffered a setback after a 1-0 loss to Sensational LPRC Oilers on Sunday at the Northstar Filed in Mount Barclay, Montserrado County.

Dominic Jarteh late strike damned Coach Christopher Wreh and his men to their first defeat of the season.

United finished the match with 10-man after defender Michael Fahnbulleh was red carded for a reckless foul. Coach Christopher Wreh was also given a matching-order by referee Christopher Nynannder.

Sunday result leave the Mount Barclay supported club second in Group B with 12 points, one point behind leaders Oilers. United last game of the season will be against NPA Anchors while Oilers will also play the same side in their last fixture.
